School Visits

    Buddha Statue in Shrine Cabinet

School/Educational visits

We can offer either visits to the centre or someone to come out and give a talk at your school, college or group.  We can either give an introductory talk on Buddhism and meditation or tailor a talk to fit your current topic on Buddhism.

An introductory talk can include:The life of Buddha Shakyamuni.   An explanation of what meditation is and a short guided breathing meditation.  What it means to live in a Buddhist community and to be ordained.  An explanation of rituals including what a Buddhist shrine is, the significance of making offerings and examples of Buddhist prayers. We find that one of the best ways for children to learn is through asking questions so we always leave lots of time and encourage your pupils/students to ask questions and discuss the topics that they are interested in that are related to Buddhism.

The talk takes place on the ground floor of our building in a large meditation room.  The building, including the meditation room and a ground floor toilet, are wheelchair accessible.

As we are a charity in order to cover our costs we charge £1 per child for Primary School age and £1.50 per child for secondary school/college age. If we are coming to visit you we also ask for 40p per mile to cover travel expenses.

If you would like further information on these visits or to request a booking form please contact the centre on info|@meditationincheshire.org or call 01606 77034.
