Photographs of work on the new centre
Odiyana Centre moved from a small three bedroom semi-detached house to this glorious new building back in April 2009. The building used to be owned by Howard Worth Accountants.

Our first job was to move all the office equipment.

Then we had to set up a temporary gompa ready for classes and pujas.

Work soon started all around the building.
Knocking down walls

Everyone helped out even our resident teacher Kelsang Chokyong!!

Building walls

New boilers and electrics
The biggest job so far was replacing the supporting wall in the main gompa with two huge steel girder. We needed all the help we could get.

Work soon started on the second gompa. Getting rid of the damp, plasterboarding the celling, stripping the wallpaper off and paining and decorating it.

Soon we had a beautiful new Tara gompa and a peaceful space to hold classes
Work on the new kitchen also started.

We started work in the new living room stripping wallpaper, hanging new wall paper and laying a new laminate floor.

Eventually it was ready

We desperately needed a new roof as the lead had been stolen while the building was waiting to be sold. This was a huge job and took many weeks.

It looks great now it is finished
