Learning To Like Yourself Day Course - Saturday 15th May
It is rare to find someone with self confidence, someone who is truly happy with themselves. People who are happy with themselves are usually humble and self-effacing. They have nothing to prove and no need to compete with or impress others. Their happiness does not depend upon other peoples approval or on their reputation.
The main cause of any problem that we have is delusion in our mind. The definition of delusion is a mental factor that arises from inappropriate attention and functions to make the mind unpeaceful and uncontrolled. If we did not have delusions we would experience only peace and contentment. When delsuions are not functioning strongly our mind is relatively tranquil but as soon as delusions arise they destroy our peace of mind. The reason we find it so hard to develop self-confidence is due to delusion. If we remove delusions from our mind we will develop a more balanced attitude and there will be no basis for discouragement or low self-esteem.
