Day Courses
Life and Death We may die today or we may not die today, we do not know. However if we think I will not die today this thought deceives us and causes us to waste our life. The thought I may die today causes us to get the most out of our life. This day course will be held at the Dallam Centre, Dallam Lane, Warrington. (Note this venue has changed from the original venue) Concentration We have little ability to focus our thoughts, as a result we easily get stressed and unhappy. When we develop stable concentration, Buddha said, our mind does what we want it to do, like a well-trained horse. Understanding the Mind Although everyone has a mind, most of us only have a vague understanding of its nature and functions. All happiness and suffering depends upon the mind, so if we want to avoid suffering and find true happiness we need to understand how the mind works and use this understanding to bring our mind under control. Learning to Like Yourself Self-confidence and self-esteem are rare qualities. Few people truly like themselves. As a result we experience problems and miss opportunities, usually due to lack of confidence rather than ability. This is so sad.
Please note: Parking at the Centre If you are visiting the the centre by car, could you please park at the end of Carlton Road, alongside the green railings. Many Thanks.
